The immune system works to protect your body against diseases. But sometimes something slips through, and you end up with a cold or the flu. Thankfully there are things you can do to boost your immune system!

Fruits and vegetables are full of nutrients and antioxidants that are overall great for both your physical and mental health. There are 3 major antioxidants. Beta-carotene, vitamin C, and Vitamin E. What do these vitamins do for you, though?

Vitamin C is mostly used now for treating the common cold, but it has several other uses too including preventing glaucoma and gall-balder disease. Some even feel it can help with depression, ADHD, and fatigue.

Vitamin E is most commonly used for vitamin E deficiencies, which is rare but can occur. It is also used to help prevent heart disease, treat diabetes, prevent cancer, amongst many other things.

Beta-carotene is used to decrease asthma symptoms, prevent certain cancers, heart disease, and cataracts.

Zinc and Selenium are two other antioxidants that are great for helping keep you healthy. There are also supplements available that contain the vitamins and antioxidants that keep you healthy. So eat a variety of fruits and vegetables and take your vitamins to keep your immune system strong and help prevent many illnesses and diseases.
